Found & Altered
2016 Solo Exhibition @ Saranac Art Projects, Spokane Washington
A wise person once told me, be everywhere, what you need will find you.
I have always enjoyed the rhythm of multiples, when I find something that has a pleasing shape en mass is when I am most at home in my studio.
When I like the shape of a thing I pick it up, bring it home.
Sometimes I let it go, other times I have a conversation with it.
Sometimes it stays with me for years before I find its’ next place in the universe.
When Image meets shape it opens the door for conversations.
I believe I have a duty to open conversations on the politics of environmentalism in my media choices and imagery. In order to develop a worthwhile opinion, you have to talk about things. A lot.
